What this is

A place to find your next — and to understand why music moves us at all.

I'm Scott — a guitarist, songwriter, and the founder of Musicianly. I've spent more than forty years playing, most of it in alternate tunings — more than 20,000 hours across nearly as many tunings. This is where I open the workshop doors.

The Lab is built on a simple belief: that inspiration isn't only something you wait for. It can be discovered — your next chord, your next melody, your next tuning, your next improvisation — and the search itself is the most alive part of making music.

The two sides

Inspiration and discovery — two faces of the same coin.

Inspiration is the spark: the moment a sound becomes a feeling, a phrase becomes a song, a song becomes part of who you are. Discovery is how you get there on purpose — exploring the map of where you are and where you could go next.

For me they're not separate. Every tool I've made, every question I chase, lives in the space between the lightning and the search for it. That's the work of this Lab.
